Dr. Roy Geronemus trained in dermatology at New York University Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident and completed fellowship training in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology. He is a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at NYU, where he founded the institution’s laser program and spent 9 years as the Chief of Dermatologic and Laser Surgery. He is also a past president of both the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery.
Throughout his career, Dr. Roy Geronemus has earned many of the field’s highest honors. He has received the Ellet Drake Award and Leon Goldman Award from ASLMS for his contributions to laser science, and the Samuel J. Stegman Award from ASDS for distinguished service. The University of Miami School of Medicine elected him to its Alumni Hall of Fame, and the Vascular Birthmark Foundation recognized his dedication to patient care with both Physician of the Year and the Humanitarian Award.
A trusted authority in dermatology, Dr. Geronemus has been recognized 28 times by New York Magazine as one of New York’s top dermatologists and named on the New York Times Magazine Super Doctors list 18 times.
